The CA Reading Difficulties Risk Screener (RDRS) is a tool that is used annually with all K-2 students to assess their early reading skills. The RDRS is used to identify students who may be at risk of reading difficulties and need additional support in reading and literacy to ensure success in school. The RDRS screening process will begin in the 2025-2026 school year.

Online Continuing Student Registration will be open from February 28 - March 31, 2025. We MUST receive a completed digital packet for all returning students. This will allow for proper placement of your student(s) for the 2025-2026 school year. This annual digital process allows a family to complete one single “family” packet instead of completing one packet per student. Packets can be completed using any computer, tablet, or smartphone with an internet connection.

We have some exciting news regarding our district’s TK program!  Beginning in the 2025-26 school year, PUSD Transitional Kindergarten will be a full-day program.  
The range of age-eligibility will also expand - children who turn four-years-old on or before September 1, 2025, will be age-eligible for TK.  (Students who turn five-years-old on or before September 1, 2025 will be age-eligible for Kindergarten).  Enrollment for TK for 2025-26 school year opens on April 1, 2025. Please feel free to share this news with your friends and neighbors who have children in this age range.

Dear Willow Grove Families,

What an incredible week it's been at Willow Grove Elementary School! Our dedicated teachers and enthusiastic students have filled our classrooms with exceptional learning experiences, exploring, discovering, and growing together.
A highlight of past week was our much-anticipated Cultural Night. It was truly one of the best ever! The event showcased the rich traditions and customs of countries from around the world, celebrating the diverse and vibrant community that makes Willow Grove so special. Thank you to everyone who participated and attended, making it such a memorable evening.
As I prepare to conclude my tenure as your interim Principal, I want to extend my heartfelt gratitude to all of you. Your warm welcome and support have made my experience at Willow Grove truly rewarding, and I am grateful for the opportunity to have been part of your community, even if only for a short time.
Friday will be my last day, and starting Monday, March 24, Ms. Alicia Graeff will take over as Principal to lead the school for the remainder of the year. I am confident that Ms. Graeff will continue to nurture and support the wonderful spirit of learning at Willow Grove.
Although my time here was brief, I will miss you all. I hope to visit occasionally, especially when our VAPA Vision team is here at WGES. Thank you once again for your kindness and collaboration.
